Isi artikel
Women’s organizations in many early 20th-century communities developed travelers aid (TA) programs to protect and rescue women who were traveling on their own or were strangers to an area and had scant funds for security. This case study of TA services for women in Duluth, Minnesota, at a time when social work was redefining its mission nationally, illustrates the diversity among the female clients’ goals, the services they received, and the importance of home in expectations for them.
