We are grateful to Shriver and Cable for their thoughtful commentary "The institutional context of Gulf War illness claims" (2008), in which there is much that we agree with. Sadly, the methodological concern over the time delay between the conflict and data collection is an unfortunate limitation of this and all studies of Gulf War health.
