Nevada Shakespeare Company in a new theatre production, A SingleWoman, has brought to life Jeannette Rankin and her struggle for peace and for workers, women, and children. Drawing on excerpts from the script and interviews with Jeanmarie Simpson and Cameron Crain, the play’s author and director, respectively, this article seeks to bring into sharper focus the uncompromising struggle for peace and against militarism that engaged many of socialwork’s early leaders.
