Isi artikelWhy have Clarkwest and Zimmerman reached divergent conclusions about how to test the effect of income inequality on life expectancy in this issue of Social Science & Medicine? (Clarkwest, 2008; Zimmerman, 2008). In his article "Neo-materialist theory and the temporal relationship between income inequality and longevity change", Clarkwest contends that a conceptual understanding of how income inequality might influence population health implies standard first difference models would fail toidentify the effect of interest, and he offers an alternative model (Clarkwest, 2008).
