Isi artikel
This article explores how one global work site—the casino—uses and abuses women workers’ bodies. Women’s “body stories” illuminate the endless ways in which corporate giants—in this case, the managers and owners of multinational casinos—control, regulate, and discipline women workers’ bodies through the relentless application of biopower. These stories also demonstrate that in spite of oppressive working conditions, the women engage in creative and subversive expressions of resistance. In this, their struggle for workplace justice parallels that of women workers worldwide.
