Abstract
A new business (not franchise) usually fragile to business failures. The failures usually happen because there is no business planning, no market analysis, no product differentiation, or the location accessibility problem. To avoid this kind of failures, it would be better, if we do some planning before we implement the business, such as making business plan supported by reseachs from some aspects such as marketing, technical, operational personnel, and financial. This is the things that has been done by PAO Burger business plan PAO Burger is a name of culinary business which is planned to be opened in the beginning of 2010 at Plaza Semanggi food court. As we can see from its name, PAO Burger offering fast food, especially chinese burger, which was resulted from a new product development, that has never been met in Indonesia before. To implement PAO Burger business, the estimation start up needed are Rp43,108,440 for investment and Rp82,269,761 for 6 month work capital. At the beginning of operation time, the management will be helped by 1 counter boy and 2 kitchen staffs. The opportunity of PAO Burger business can be seen from the increased number of people having less time, and increase number of business women in big cities, large number of young people which is a potential market for fast food. From 5 years operation time, PAO Burger was targetted to be able to reach NPV value Rp 391,976,197, IRR 113%, and 18.87 month payback period The worse scenario planning for sales, personnel, and funding is done to support the business plan. The scenario planning is done to help us see all kind of possibility that could be happen to our business, and estimate the effect of the possibility. By using scenario planning, we can prepare for the unexpected, and by planning for the unexpected we can learn how to survive and grow our business.
