PT. Bayer Indonesia – Consumer Care has commitment to fulfill the needs of health for everyone, one of their products is effervescent. Currently, PT. Bayer Indonesia – Consumer Care’s plant in Cimanggis has started to enter the global market, especially particularly in fulfilling the demand at Asia Pacific market. In order to meet the demand, PT. Bayer Indonesia has made some improvement by adding new machines in its productions line. One of the improvements is on the effervescent tablet making production line and the packaging line, that is the New Inline Packaging. It is crucial section along the production process. This New Inline Packaging has not perform at it best because there are a lot of downtime occur along the production process and it become a problem that the company face. The author recommends Six Sigma method as the new quality control method, which by defines, measure, analyze, improve and control the process. The first thing to do is identifying the problems and failures that occur along the production process, which it will determine the Critical to Quality and the making of Pareto Diagram. In such a way that the author knows that in New Inline Packaging there is downtime for 30785 minutes or 513.08 hours from the 4200 hours of total normal production in 25 weeks of research. The large number of downtime become the cause of maximized production capacity. The research then focuses on uncommon failures that during along production process. Therefore, the improvement that has to be made is by identifying what are the problems that cause on of the lines stop and a downtime happened. At this point, the author did some research at five machines that contribute the most downtime. After some data process has been done by Why Diagram method, there are two main issues: the machine parameter setting that always change and lack of attention in machinery maintenance by the machine operators and technical supports. Therefore, the author made a recommendation for improvement base on FMEA, which are making a machine setting standardization by using regression and correlation analysis, testing and implementation recommendation to support production quality control. |
