Isi artikel
A study of lexical availability among a stratified sample of 96 inhabitants of an Arab village in Israel reveals the integration of items from English and Hebrew into spoken Arabic. Analysis shows that this varies according to domains, greater innovation occurring in modern than in traditional areas, and analysis of demographic variables suggests that the principal sources of diffusion are those people who work outside the village and educated professionals.
