The antibodies, which are serologically detectable is a subset of infertile couples, have been reported to cause functional disturbancies of sperm such as reduction of sperm viability, mortality, impeding capacitation, acrosom reaction and blocking the sperm-egg interaction. Identification of the target antigen (s) is unquestionably important to understand the mechanism of autoimmune infertility.
