A laboratory examination on ocular Chlamydia trachomatis infection was carried out in the Departement of Microbiology, School of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Jakarta. Three staining methods were conducted simultaneously, namely the Giemsa staining, the iodine staining and the flourescent antibody technique applied each to a number of 207 slides, while another number of 207 specimens were employed for the isolation attempts of the etiologic agents.
