Isi artikel
There are two alternative models of Algonquian linguistic prehistory: an areal- diffusion one and a genetic - family - tree one. The evidence --all widely shared Post-PA features -is examined point by point, and it is argued that the nonambiguous features all point to diffusion. Countless flaws are found in Goddard's PEA Hypothesis, and the innovations claimed for it are shown to be retentions from PA and features diffused in the MAA or LE areas.
