On e of the techniques of active learning is the process of understanding in this research is the Mind Mapping technique. The purpose of this study is to know the improvement of the student's competence in their understanding of the Social Studies Subject of fifth grade elementary students of Santa Ursula Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD). This study applies Class Action Research, which is devided into two cycles. Two kinds of test are used: the multiple test and the essay test.
