When the structure of the system is varied, the predictor can automatically change its structure by increasing dimension and decreasing dimension algorithm and estimate its parameters on line. Using the structure adaptive self-tuning adaptive predictor, over a period, the quarterly prediction of the national oil output and the yearly prediction of oil output in certain oil field are successfully carried out, the average relative prediction errors are 1.86% and 2.12% respectively.
