To develop hookworm control program, appropriate baseline data were needed. A cross-sectional study was carried out in order (1) to determine prvalence and intensity of hookworm infection in the population of Bali and its association with age, gender, and geo-climatic condition, (2) to identify the species of hookworm, and (3) to assess the relationship of hookworm infection and iron deficiency anemia.
