Isi artikelThe second generation of LAPAN micro satellite will be used for remote sensing by its main payload that is a multispectral camera. Beside the main payload, this satellite will bring a secondary payload which is used for investigating space and atmospheric sciences named GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) occultation receiver. The study of payload has been done by comparing this to a satellite which has similar mission to the LAPAN's satellite that is the Orsted satellite (Denmark). The GPS occultation technique is based on the measurement of refraction index and the variation of density on each atmospheric layers, causing bending effects on radio wavelength. The GPS occultation sensor will be used as scientific payload for the LAPAN micro satellite. This sensor produces data such as TEC, electron density, temperature, pressure and other atmospheric variables.
