Isi artikel
According to most research, revision improves writing by helping writers discover meaning which leads them to reformulate their texts, but student writers revise superficially to correct grammar errors. The purpose of this study was to describe the revision changes that incoming first-year students at the National University of Singapore made. These 82 students, all males and all Chinese-medium educated, revised their examination essays either once or twice. Their 6755 revision changes were taxonomized along four levels - meaning, operation, syntax and stage.
