Isi artikelThe purpose of the study reported in this paper was to compare the effects of text version and form level as factors in reading comprehension. The study examined a group of Cantonese-speaking students at five form levels (Forms Three to Seven) in Hong Kong,’ who read three text versions (native-speaker, input modified and interactional structure modified versions). Results showed significant main effects due to text version, form level and the interaction of these factors. In addition, the modified texts were overall significantly more effective than the nativespeaker text; and the input modified version was significantly more effective than its interactional structure modified counterpart. As for each form level, significant differences between the versions were found only at Forms Three and Four.
