The experiment of nuclear weapon and reactor accidents bring to the global pollution of environmental by artificial radionuclides 137 Cs (half life 30,2 years) is an important fission product and one of the most biologically hazardous component of radioactive waste. It may be introduced in the food chain and deliver an internal dose of radiation before to be eliminated metabolically. Phytoremediation as one of bioremediation processes that uses various types of plants to eliminate heavy metals, radionuclides, and other hazardous contaminants in the soil and ground water. A research has been conducted to measure the uptake of radiocesium by tobacco plant and its effectiveness in the phytoremediation .Tobacco plant are grown in contaminated soil media by 134 Cs (half life 2,05 years ) in 0,0854 MBq/kg concentration. For the control experiment, the plants are also grown in soil without 134 Cs contamination. The plantation was harvested every 5 days for 55 days sampling period, Measurement by gamma ray spectrometry shows that the total 134 Cs activity in tobacco tissue during experiment reached to 48.6 Bq and its concentration was 88,4 Bq/gr. The Tobacco plant is able to absorb 134 Cs from the soil media and accumulate them in the root, leaves and stem part, where the value of factor transfer for each part are 0,642, 0,563 and 0,345 respectively. The total number of factor transfer from the soil to tobacco plantation is 1.550 which is reached at 40th days
