This paper presents a simple method for selecting effective weighting matrices of LQ regulator with including the state augmentation for integral control. The performance index contains not only the quadratic forms of states and control input, but also the derivatives of states. It is shown that the determination of an optimal control law designed by the concept of LQ regulator problem associated with new weighting matrices of the performace index. The weighting matrices are properly selected to inherits the advantages from Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM). The simulation and experimental results for the two-inertia system with torsinal vibration are shown in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
