Covariance control for uncertain descriptor systems will be investigated in this paper. Firstly, the covariance concept for continuous descriptor systems will be proposed. This is an extension for normal linear systems and it will provide an effective description of impulse behaviour for descriptor systems. Secondly, sufficient conditions characterizing the existence of the proposed covariance will be given. Thirdly, in order to estimate the error of uncertain descriptor system, a state observer will be designed such that the covariance of uncertain error for the closed-loop descriptor systems is less than a given upper bound with circular poles constraints. Finally, numerical example will be given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed convariance theory.
