In this paper we consider the function approximation when synthesized an automatic choosing control for a class of nonlinear systems with single input. Nonlinear terms of the system are piecewisely lineraized by Taylor expansion so as to design the linear optimal controls. These controls are smoothly united into a single nonlinear feedback control by the sigmoid type automatic choosing functions. Since this control greatly depends on approximation errors, we here develope their error bounds under various conditions. Some control parameters are also analytically derived from an error bound formula. Examples are provided to verify the tightness of these error bounds.
