The controller can help user design electrical circuits for sequential control, simulate the motion of the controlled system according to the circuit design, perform PC-based control and monitor the control results remotely. The controller consists of a computer-aided sequential control design software and remote data acquisition modules. The computer-aided sequential control design software, which is based on a virtual pneumatic laboratory as the platform of the controlled system, helps user design electric circuits for sequential control. Remote data acquisition modules with RS232/RS485 interface are integrated with the software to form the controller. The software is a Java application and Java applet. It can be access by any Java-enabled browser. In the control part of the software, a three-tier model and a client/server model are implemented. The performances of the two models are compared.
