Value investing is usually thought of as buying a stock for less than it is really worth. That’s a nice goal. Often, though, the approach has been distorted to the point where an obsession with low price, or more specifically, low price-related stock valuation metrics, became an end in itself. But in truth, company quality has always been relevant and the value connection method presented here brings this issue to the forefront. The word “connection,” every bit as important as the word “value,” refers to the relationship between the stock price and the quality of what we get for our money. In other words, we seek to match good stocks with good companies. |
