In April, 2006, a 57-year-old man was admitted because of an intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm in the pancreas. The patient had undergone a pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy earlier that month. Before the operation, a central venous catheter was placed via the right internal jugular vein.
