Within the past few decades new developing nations such as those in Asia and Africa have been struggling with the conflict between the aspirations of the various mother tongues and the dominance of the international languages. Since they are unwilling to sacrifice one and unable to do without the other, the only solution is bilingualism which must have its roots in the schooling of the young.
