Isi artikel
The reading process itself is, strictly speaking, a physical act which falls within the psychomotor domain in Bloom’s taxonomy of skills. It must, however, also include some part of the cognitive domain, otherwise, the reading process would be similar to ’barking at print’. As a process, it is often analysed in psycholinguistic studies and, increasingly more so now, as a sociolinguistic concern in which societal variables are viewed as necessary attenders. When the reading process is regarded in this manner, it is seen less as a process per se, but more as an informed procedure, involving levels other than the psychomotor and enabling what is called effective or responsive reading to take place.
