Notes the transformation of the business information sectors of Central and Eastern Europe brought about by the post-Gorbachev political and economic changes. The most significant changes have occurred in the nature and variety of information now being made available to business people. The latter developments owe everything to Western ideas of management information. Western business information sectors have also been greatly changed by the economic revolutions occurring in Central and Eastern Europe. Examines the main trends within these information sectors and the important role played by the establishment, within these countries, of an information infrastructure increasingly responsive to internal and foreign demands for general information. Reports that the main online hosts, such as DIALOG and Data-Star, have increased their coverage of material from Central and Eastern Europe and these countries are tending to use this type of information on an increasing scale.
