To gather material for an enjambed conversation, I tape recorded two persons, a male and a female, having a natural conversation about buying a car. The female was the potential customer. Their conversation was recorded in the home of one of the conversation partners, and the segment that I enjambed was selected from a long tape. I selected what I thought was a piece of normal conversation. The dialogue conversation is included in Appendix A.
