Isi artikelWomen and librarianship is reviewed in the context of the issues and literature to date in Britain, America and Australia. The reviewers believe that the contributors take a too strident approach at times. The contributions are analysed in relation to wider developments in society, particularly the rise of the women’s movement, affirmative action programmes and international trends. It is suggested that not only management needs to change, but also the attitudes and motivation of women, although what constitutes ’success’ in libraries needs further discussion. Libraries are well suited to different job patterns which can aid women’s progress
