Isi artikel
This article is based on research work by the author. Information was received from 175 London-based organizations. The following activities were offered by them: libraries, advice/information services, bookshops, publishing, mothertongue classes, dance and drama, film/video shows, art exhibitions and festivals and carnivals. Libraries, advice/information services, bookshops and publishing were studied in detail. This study, the first of its kind in the field of library and information studies or any other subject area in this country, indicated that libraries were not aware of the various activities offered by the organizations. Some forms of co-operation came to light, particularly between libraries and self-help bookshops. Recommendations for improving co-operation are given.
