The programme (Chilean)is described as being "defined" and "comprehensive"; "defined" in that the rural health centre will service a definite geographical area, and "comprehensive" in that it will attempt to establish preventive, curative, and recovery resources available to, and the training programme and curriculum for the auxiliary health worker are described. The course includes I month of theoretical training, 5 months of practical, and 3 months of field practice, under supervision. His activities development, environmental sanitation, first aid, maternal and infant care, and administration are well detailed. A means of evaluating the results of the programme is outlined. |
