Isi artikel
The purpose of this paper is to review the developments taking place in the use of video in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and suggest ways in which VTR/VCR equipment might enhance ESP teaching programmes.’ Although I shall make reference to television and film, I shall assume that wherever possible TV programmes or fumes would be copied and used on video equipment, since a video unit, as well as being less cumbersome, provides the teacher with a flexibility that TV or film lack. A video tape can be stopped, wound forward, rewound, as the teacher and his students require, which gives the teacher control over the output of the programme. Lack of output control restricts a teacher’s pedagogic moves and he cannot adjust and adapt his teaching to match learner-reaction to the material presented.
