Isi artikel
Data collected from a parish survey questionnaire (85 per cent return) showed that 17 per cent of households used the mobile library van (MLV). Distance from MLV stopping points and age were major factors affecting use. Households containing retired people showed twice the average use. Young family households made below average use. People seem unwilling to walk far to use the MLV and the survey identified an additional worthwhile stopping place. The usefulness of parish surveys for obtaining library-use data is discussed.
