Abstract
Employee’s Performance Appraisal has an important function for company. Through Performance Appraisal, a company may measure the process and objectives from an employee, so a company can assure the job which already done has a contribution and value for company achievement goals. Balanced Scorecard as performance appraisal system has a holistic approach in measuring company’s and employee’s performance, because it consists of four perspectives which important to a company, such as financial perspective, customer perspective. This research’s objective is to get a despriptive recent performance system in a company and effort to develop performance appraisal system according concept and principt of Balanced Scorecard. This research can give a benefits for company whom running employee’s performance appraisal, especially if they want to implement the balanced scorecard’s theory. This research is using an analytical descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. In aiming to get a comprehensive description about company’s background, behavior and character, PT BNI Life Insurance is being held as a case study. The research instrument is using a question list which attending by 43 coresspondences by interview based on selective criterias. The research shows that PT. BNI Life Insurance performance appraisal system hasn’t concern the Balance Scorecard yet, in spite of it, this company has a good basic to implement the Balanced Scorecard concept in Employee’s Performance Appraisal. It suggested to conduct the extension research that reinforce the existency and role of Balanced Scorecard in the human resource management by adding other variables, such as leadership, corporate culture, competency, or compesation.
