| The purpose of this bibliography is to provide a comprehensive and continuing index to the current periodical medical literature for practitioners and investigators in community medicine and for others concerned with the etiology, prevention, and control of disease. The bibliography is divided into two parts, each arranged in alphabetical order. Section One, Selected Subject Headings, includes references related to some 200 topics, e.g. Birth Rate, Child Health Services, Communicable Disease Control, Environmental Health, Hygiene, Nutrition Surveys, Preventive Dentistry, Sanitation, World Health Organization, etc. Section Two, Diseases, Organisms, and Vaccines, includes the current references related to the etiology, prevention, and control of specific diseases. Topics here include Abortion, Birth Injuries, Deficiency Diseases, Gynecologic Diseases, Kwashiorkor, Trypanosomiasis, etc. Since each reference cited here appears at least once in Index Medicus, a separate author index is not required. Each volume consists of 12 monthly issues accompanied by an annual cumulation at the end of the year.
