Bacground : Key health issues for women of reproductive age include problems concerning sexuality and reproduction. Sexuality is not merely about sex, but about the right of women to make choices and decisions related to sexual behavior and practices, relationships, breastfeeding, contraception and abortion. this study wil examine the various health facilities, services care which are available, in particular those which influece breastfeeding practice. Methods: A combination of qualitative and quantitative data colletcion methods were used in this study. in the quantitative method, a questionnaire servey was conducted following preliminary analysis of the data collected through focus group discussions(FGDs). The Methods employed for qualitative data collection include focus group discussion. informal and in - depth interviews and participant observation. The sample groups in the peri - urban area included pregnant women, mother with babies les than 2 yeras old a few husbands and a small number of women of repruductive age. Results : This Study found that there were many factors influencing the choice of birth place such as location, cost and quality of the service provided by nurses, doctor, etc. the women in this area stil preferred the services of the dukun bayi for the post natal treatment. conclusions : The Place where the mother delivers the babay influences their motivation to breasfeed. although the respondents mentioned that breasfeeding is good practice for feeding baby, however. they lack of knowledge abaut breastfeeding. this condition is closely related to the poor counseling about breastfeeding.
