The continuing increase of global crude oil and food prices has made significant impacts on the macroeconomic condition in Indonesia. Crude oil price finally exceeded its psychological price limit of 100 USD/barrel at the end of first quarter 2008. Due to the shortage on budget allocation to cover discrepancy between domestic and international price oil, teh Indonesian goverment was forced to announce their future plan to cut fuel price subsidy.
