Isi artikel
While researching a solution for a measurement problem, the author came across a vendor application note dealing with position sensing by exploiting Faraday's Law. A few months later, while waiting on a flight into Atlanta, the author had the opportunity to reread the note in detail and do some additional background research. The note explained that the position sensor relied on an alternating magnetic field to generate a circulating current within two series connected resistors, which resulted in unequal and oppositely phased voltages on two common nodes ; the dominating voltage would be a function of the physical location of the measuring circuitry.
