It is the lifeblood of development. You haven't completed a project if the documentation isn't done. Good documentation makes the instrument more accessible and useful, and it clarifies operation. It also affects the perceived value of the product; a good manual indicates a good product. Don't overlook or downplay documentation, and don't put it off. Just do it! Indeed, 50 % to 75 % of your time should be spent writing and recording design and development. Some tips are given for preparing good documentation.
