Fuzzy linear programming is a method to solve linear programming problem containing ambiguous objective function and constraints. An approach can be used to solve this problem is approximation using fuzzy concept. Fuzzy concept represents uncertainty constraints based on fuzzy set. This approach uses membership function on fuzzy set. There are five types of membership function on fuzzy set, i.e. linear membership function, hyperbolic membership function, invers hyperbolic membership function, exponential membership function, and piecewise linear membership function. It is tried to find the best value of membership function that satisfies all constraints. The aim of this study is to identify the type of membership function that suitable to every type of fuzzy linear programming problem.
