Isi artikel
With so much of the world's attention focused, appropriately, on the economic accomplishments of European integration in recent years, some remarkable economic developments taking place on the opposite side of the globe for a long time may have received less attention than warranted. These trends, with the problems in their wake and their portent for all areas, are studied-in a personal analysis not necessarily reflecting U.S. Government views-by a key U.S. official, Deputy Special Re[presentative for Trade Negotiations, Harald B. Malmgren A native of Boston Massachusetts, Ambassador Malmgren obtained his undergraduate degree from Yale and his doctorate from Oxford University. In 1964, aged 29, he was named assistant special representative for trade negotiations, and led many U.S. delegations to international meetings over the next five years. Ambassador Malmgren offers a new perspective of the vitally important Pacific Economy
