It has been stated in GBHN that the agricultural sector in Indonesia economy is considered to be important. The importance of this sector in Indonesia economy can be seen from its role to the food suplly, gross domestic product (GDP), labor supply and devisa which is derived from export. The role of agricultural sector to the food supply can be approved by the the ability of this sector to achieve rice self sufficiency since 1984 and also its ability to increase the consumption of energy and protein. The contributiuon of agricultural sector to GDP can be seen by the increase of the value of agricultural product eventhough the relative measurement, percentage to GDP, this value decrease up to 19.3 %. Then, the contribution of agricultural to the labor supply can be seen by its capability to absorb the labor force up to 49.3 %. Finally, the contribution of agricultural sector to get devisa can be seen by the increase of the value of agricultural export with 15 % annually growth.
