Isi artikel
A noted U.S. labor economist explains why what appears to be a sudden spurt of growth in services in the United States is, in fact, merely a continuation of a trend that has been evident throughout this century. The interview was conducted by Stewart W. Ramsey, editor-in-chief of Economic Impact. Sar A. Levitan is research professor of economics and director of the Center for Social Policy Studies at The George Washington University. He is the author of a number of books on the subject of work in America, including, most recently, Beyond the Safety Net: Reviving the Promise of Opportunity in America. Dr. Levitan has been a consultant to various U.S. Government agancies and to private organizations, and he served as chairperson of the National Commission on Employment and Unemployment Statistics.
