Isi artikel
Using the latest technology and economic incentives contained in national energy legislation, residents of the Northeastern United States are setting up small hydropower units on streams and canals and selling the electricity produced to regional power grids. According to the author, this has proved to be an efficient and environmentally clean alternative to oil. William A. Loeb is president of West Stockbridge Enterprises, and energy engineering firm specializing in small hydroelectric plants and computerized facility control systems. He holds degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This article is based on an article written for a recent issue of Technology Review.
