Alvin M. Weinberg has been at the forefront of nuclear power development for 40 years-as a former president of the American Nuclear Society, as a former director of the Oak Ridge (Tennessee) National Laboratory, as a member of the National Academy of Sciences, and, currently, as director of the Institute for Energy Analysis at the Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
