This research aims to analyze how a number of newspapers (Republika, Kompas, and The Jakarta Post) display news on East Timor in the structure of their news and to see the images of UNAMET, INTERFET, TNI, Indonesia, Australia as well as the US America in the local daily newspapers during the period of before and after the referendum in East Timor. The result of the research shows that, generally speaking, Republika considered news on East Timor were more important compared with Kompas or The Jakarta Post. However, if we look in details in relation to each variable, they are different in the way they display news on East Timor. Another conclusion is that from the three newspapers describe the images of UNAMET, INTERFET, TNI, Indonesia, Australia as well as the US America in different rankings.
