The economic behavior of Indonesian Chinese has unique characteristics. These characteristics are influenced by the way Indonesian Chinese identify themselves within Indonesian socio-culture. This article tries to explore the economic behavior of Indonesian Chinese since 1930 to the post New Order era. Specifically, it examines the background of Chinese migration to Indonesia and other Asian regions, the strengths and weaknesses of Indonesian Chinese economic behavior, and the general perception of Indonesian Chinese in relation to their economic behavior.
