Abstract
A just and equitable society is obviously what the chapter on fundamental liberties under the Federal Constitution of Malaysia seeks to create. This includes the provision on religious freedom. However as it is the provision is still shrouded in mystery and contradictions. This paper seeks to highlight some of the case law and juristic opinions on the issue. Although the case study concentrates on the Malaysian position, it is significant for it represents the way the Muslims - in Asia and the rest of the world – look at justice and equity.
