| This research using a gendered perspective in law which has looked critically at court trials. It has established that there is not only a serious gap between law’s ideals and reality, but many judges unconsciously behave on the basis of stereotypical ideas concerning the role and behaviour of women, seriously undermining the latter’s position in court (Taub & Schneider 1997, Irianto 2006). |
