Isi artikel
Drawing the experiences of Japan and the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Wallich concludes that national economic planning would be incompabtible with the free market economy of the United States. A native of Germany, the author has achieved high distinction in the more than 40 years that he has lived in the United States: professor of economics at Yale University for over two decades, member of President Dwight D. Eisenhower's Council of Economic Advisers, 1959-60, and currently a member of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System. The views expressed here are personal and do not necessarily reflect those of the board or its staff.
